Predicting the PDC bit performance during drilling operation is important for cost effectiveness of operation. The majority bits are assessed based on their that relative to offset wells. Determination mechanical specific energy (MSE) in real time and compare it with known MSE a sharp assess life has been utilized by several operators past. However, still cannot be used predict exploration wells also efficiency inner outer cones. A more precise approach needs devised applied improve prediction decision when pull out hole. Effective (EMSE) developed this work new wear predictive model measure cutting number cutters, which contact rock as function weight (WOB), rotary speed (RPM), torque, depth cut (DOC). This modifies previous incorporating such parameters including detailed design bit, blades, cutter density, size, angle. Using together analysis hardness, level understanding how variables influence cone improved, convenient comparison condition frame standard record achieved. presents simple cutters using actual data from three sections drilled oil Libya. It found obtained results well agreement dull grading shown record.
